my dad is a weird and funny person.
Check this, when I make a certain comment on how good I am at something, its called boasting and showing-off, but when he makes a similar comment about himself, its called making an (or leading by) example.

And when I told my bro to shut up when he made fun of something I said and wanted my dad to explain to him the right thing, my dad thought I was offended by a small kid! No way! Thats what happens when I was thinking in an adult way. What I was thinking was, this kid needs to be shut up and taught a lesson on not being a know-it-all, but my dad simply taught I was offended. Hmmph... well. comm prob. happens all the time.

And people! Communication IS impt! remember paraphrasing? No? People either dont understand you or get a diff meaning if you dont rephrase.

So here's a comm prob of a diff sort I had just now:
Dad: SO you know how to adjust a laser pointer/aiming device on a rifle?
Me: Well, that depends. Let me see the weapon first then I'll know.
Dad: You think its that easy? If so, people wouldnt spend months taking courses and paying instructiors to learn how to calibrate a rifle to aim properly. In NS, I could just give you a gun and tell you to shoot.

Problem: I thought when my dad asked how to adjust the thing, he meant whether I knew how to twist knobs or flick levers or buttons on a device, when my dad actually meant whether I can actually make a bullet go where I want by doing ACTUAL proper adjustment. Well....

Remember this when dealing with patients.

will YOU be my escape?
