NAPFA was rather disappointing.

Sit Ups - 61 (can la)
Shuttle Run - 9.3 (I wanted below 9.0)
Pull-ups - 11 (better than expected)
Sit & Reach - 45cm (PATHETIC)
SBJ - 245cm (=.=')
2.4km - ??? ( I blacked out about 50m before the end and opened my eyes and was already lying on the ground)

So I think I have either 27 or 28 points.
Gold.
Great.
Whatever.

EDU Camp is tomorrow.
Still deciding on the face to put on.
Believe me, it matters.

To tekan, or not to tekan.
Hmmm.

Anyway, Project Nutz is also on tomorrow.
Kinda nervous.
I'm targetting below half an hour for all of us.
Judging by the time trial we had yesterday, it is definitely achievable.
Everyone averaged 4mins 20secs, (with the exception of Han Bin) which is almost there.
A few seconds shaved off here and there should do the trick.
I really hope EVERYONE puts in their best.

Lastly, some random photos from Tuesday.
I brought Kate for my class photoshoot.
Woot. fun stuff.

Wee. P17

Act cool only.

Pure joy.

Excellent. This one, Jia Jun took.

Sunday, July 20, 2008
Well people.
I survived yet another long-day event.
Fun On Foot 2008.
Had a nice time, albeit in a totally different way from all the other OB fellas
=)

Firstly, I brought along Kate (My DSLR) and the tripod, to play around with the whole day.
Second, my official role was that of a Stage-Hand.

Honestly, it was a boring role, since I was only needed to lift up a heavy gong (with Zhan Yu)
onto the stage to start off the race, and after that I blocked out a staircase to prevent participants from going through it.

So, meanwhile, since I had nothing to do, I walked around shooting stuff, and the next photo is just hilarious. Somehow, it's her classic look. Very cute. Nicely done Huishi!

However, I wasn't going to be TOTALLY free of work because Yan He, the guy in charge, needed someone to go out with him. So I ended up bringing all my stuff to go for a long long ride with him in his van. How sad, leaving my friends at the station, though apparently they didn't miss me very much, or at all. Whichever.

Key facts about Yan He (that I know):
- OB Alumni
- 9th Comm TC
- Looks like he could beat the crap out of you
- Overall nice guy though

And so, began my hard labour.
Shifted a whole lot of water onto the van.
Man, that got the sweat working hard alright.
Turns out we were going to deliver the water all over,
to the Zone I/Cs who needed them.

So we first headed to the Armenian Church, near SMU.
I forgot the name of the guy we gave the water to.
Saw alot of participants, took a few photos.
But they weren't realy good shots.

Anyway, we then headed to Queenstown Library, where we delivered MORE water.
Then on to Sixth Avenue. Same deal.
Caught a photo of this mosque, which was the station there.
Pardon the poor quality.
I was in a rush.

So anyway, after that we headed to Jalan Besar.
THANK GOD for that.
Why?
Cause I got to visit, Clem and Midori, people who are very important to me okay?
Haha.
So naturally, got alot of photos here, since I got a longer break.

Participants figuring out the name of the model plane in the glass display.

So, it was with great heartache (YEAH RIGHT) that I had to leave the place.
We headed to Compass Point, then to Adam Road Foodcourt, to collect food.
Surplus food actually.
And I was glad to finally be getting back to Suntec.
Got a very long rest, and ate alot of the food.
And it was time to play around with Kate even more.

tripod time!
funny stuff.
There was a nice photo where we were waiting for the camera to take the photo,
and a little kid walked past.
Lucky for us, only his balloon appeared.
Not this photo obviously.

A goody pose, which I wasn't ready for cause I only time to sit down, seeing as that I ran back to the table. More importantly, CHECK OUT HUISHI'S FACE.
Hahahahahahahahahaha.

Anyway, our fun time soon ended, cause the participants were starting to reappear.
In no time, it was like a madhouse.
Me and Jun Kai found ourselves in a mad frenzy of lifting 20-30kg boxes of goodie bags from the logistics area to the collection point. Got alot of abrasions from the box sliding down my arms as we tried to put them down. Man that was fun. The two of us were probably on a high. And Jun Kai was whining alot, naturally. great fun.

Ended up having a VERY soaked shirt, so we changed into the pink participants ones.
After everything ended, everyone got jealous, and wanted one too. =.='
So anyway, had more fun playing around with the camera over umm, tea time?
Apparently alot of them went off, so it was only myself, Derrick, Han Bin, Jacq, Zhan Yu, Clem, CY, and Wesley.

Look at these two weirdos.
She was laughing by the way.
That's her way of muffling it.
Han Bin though.
I don't know what you were doing.

This is simply a nice photo.
The background is perfectly blurred. =)
But I AM rather surprised that I didn't see the cut on her neck,
and she did.
Argh, poor observation. *punches self*

And this is just.......
Well, I guess it shows what we all probably were feeling.

Oh well, all in all, I had a nice time.
Turns out I took 1GB of photos.
Scary.
Haha. =)
Goodnight all.

It suddenly occured to me - again - that NAPFA is in about a fortnight's time.
Truth be told, I'm rather nervous about it.
Afraid even.

I know MOST people would think I'm worrying about nothing.
Especially since I'm surrounded by people who don't see any importance
for it, mostly girls la, since they don't need it.
Perfectly understandable.

Funny, how alot of my friends are saying stuff like
"You no need to prepare already la"
"Go and die la Mirza, gold already"

I usually just smile at their comments and not say anything.
But it really gets to me.
Why are people like that?
It's like, once those kind of comments are said, I suddenly feel bad for
being what I am.
Lucky I have people like Ghaz, and maybe Rudy around. Haha
They seem to enjoy discussing running and stuff with me, and seem to find
my running somewhat amazing. Great fellas. =)

Back to the point of this post.
I'm afraid of the test, why?
Well I've never really told people, but usually, when I have so many people
riding on me for elevated expectations, I don't usually crack, in fact, never at all.
But it's mostly academic.
But when it comes to something like this, say, a simple 2.4km run, I can choke.
Badly.
No, not choke on food and cough kind of choke.
Choke as in perform below par.
I seem to have a history of performing poorly.
Back in secondary school during my track and field days, I was one of the fastest guys, and could hold my own against alot of people, but I somehow screwed up a few races
(which includes not finishing the race)

Kinda scary when you hear people expecting you to run 7 or 8 minutes.
I can do it, and I have done it.
But now I'm lucky if I can hit below 9-and-a-half.
My legs are killing me, and I've been having chest problems for weeks already.

Oh well, whatever.
I'll just ignore everyone else, and do my own thing.

And so, I finally (randomly) got a DSLR.
Nothing too fancy.
Just a Canon 450D.
Been playing around with it the whole afternoon.
Enjoy some of the test shots.
Haha. Again, nothing too fancy there as well.

Nice? =)

As tagged by Derrick

01. Why are you answering these questions?
Because a dear friend of mine requested it

02. Where will you go if someone sponsors you a tour ticket?
2 places only - Either the himalayas or antartica

03. What would you most like to do?
Fight a war

04. Do you think money can buy happiness?
unfortunately, yes. There are plenty of things you can change or get.

05. If you could be someone else for a day, who would you be?
I wish I could be ANY guy, who's happily married to a loyal and loving wife, has 3 good kids, and has a good job which he's satisfied with, and is just living a happy life

06. List out 3 good points of the person who tagged you?
Derrick ah.
1. Someone I feel I can trust anything to
2. Shares relatively similar ideals
3. Takes pride in things that he likes/loves.

07. What are you afraid to lose the most?
My heart. Not literally. And it don't mean I'm afraid to get heart-broken.

08. If you win $1 million, what would you do?
In order > A huge backpack (preferably Deuter or Mammut)
> A Gibson Les Paul Black Beauty (plus amps and stuff)
> A DSLR with every kit you need
> Attend as many proficiency courses as I can
> Treat Clement, Ying Jia and Jacq to the BnJ that I owe them.
> Use the rest of the cash as it comes along

09. What colour(s) represents you the most?
Clichéd perhaps, but red black and white. The simplest, yet most powerful combination of colours (according to Jack White)

10. 1+1 =?
2 fellas. It's okay if you don't know.

11. What makes you happy?
To know that I am welcomed and that I belong somewhere

12. What type of person do you hate the most?
Someone who practically forces you to conform to THEIR emotions. They choose
when they want to be happy or pissed off at you, and you'll get flamed even if you're
not at fault.

13. Where do you see yourself 10 years down the road?
Working in Saudi Arabia as a RN holding a degree, or a Nursing Officer in the SAF.

14. If you could have a superpower, what would it be?
The power to feel totally detached from any emotion.

15. What do you think is the most important thing in your life right now?
To get through school

16. What disappoints you the most?
When you're not appreciated, even if you don't ask for it.

17. If you have a chance, which part of your character would you like to change?
My tendency to want to be like others. I am my own good person. Trying to be like others, just makes me confused.

18. What makes you cry?
Severe Trauma - If I break my leg I'll cry.

19. What is your least favourite animal?
Pig

20. What is one thing your friends probably don't know about you?
one secret at a time. eh fellas?
okay here goes > everytime I run, I fear I might collapse, cause i ALWAYS have chest pains, yet the desire to want to be better than my fellow runner just keeps me going.

And for the sake of everyone else. I shan't tag anyone.

"You burned my house down and got mad at my reaction."

I realized I never really explained the meaning to the words
of Effect & Cause by The White Stripes.

But I guess it's rather easy to interpret that line eh?
Don't know why, but I'm having vibes of that
very line up there right now.
Like someone did something, but are gonna blame it
on me.
Hmmmmm.
